Those who know me can vouch that I am NOT a gifted baker. I require very precise recipe directions. There are good reasons why I do not improvise and rarely, if ever, make a substitution. I'm merely a Martha wanna be.
Due to an unfortunate mishap involving a pizza, I had to take a break from using my oven until I resolved some clean-up issues. This was a task that I continued to ignore for a lengthy period of time, probably in part because I could not locate the chisel in the garage. But alas, I finally cleaned my oven and decided to make these rolls to celebrate Mother's Day.
The recipe called for frozen dinner rolls but did not state the size of package or number of rolls. Therefore, I used the entire package. Based on the result, I'm assuming this was a lofty assumption. I was so busy playing bored...er...board games with my kiddos that I never once peeked into the oven until I saw smoke coming out of the back vent. That's never a good sign, although I 'm happy to report that our smoke detector is in working order. Here's the finished masterpiece:
Side overflow view:
Look at my poor oven! And right after I had cleaned it too! Baked-on brown sugar and butter. Yippee! But the rolls tasted great, just a wee bit dry since all the good gooey stuff was sitting in a molten mess in my oven!
My oven is clean again, so I'm ready for my next baking adventure. I'm getting pretty handy with that chisel.

Memorial Day is officially celebrated on the last Monday during the month of May. Memorial Day is dedicated to service men and women who gave their lives for freedom and country. It is also a time to remember loved ones who have passed away. The roots of Memorial Day go back to 1865 and the end of the Civil War.
Memorial Day was traditionally held on the 30th of May. In 1971, Congress changed it to the last Monday in order to afford a three day holiday weekend. Regardless of the date, we encourage you to attend a parade, and to visit a cemetery to honor and remember our servicemen . Take time to remember lost loved ones in whatever way you feel appropriate.
Did you Know? Memorial Day was first called Decoration Day. It was changed to Memorial Day in 1882.
Memorial Day also marks the beginning of the gardening and summer seasons, even though summer will not occur for a few weeks later. It is usually marked by holding the first family picnic of the year.

On days when the coupons are included, it is sometimes a good investment to buy additional copies of the paper. I used to buy one, calculate the coupons I'll probably really use. If that was over 4 times the price of the paper, and it is usually is... check how soon the expiration dates are, and get ready to clip those coupons! This is especially good if you have a mid week paper that has a food section with coupons. When we first moved to TX, the Wednesday papers were packed full of them, and for a quarter a paper I could get big bucks of savings. Course back in the good ole days, they didn't have expiration dates sometimes!!!
Hope some of my other dear friends will come on in and add the things not included. 'Rissa suggested a website, but I copied and pasted something else over that copy paste and have CRS.... can't remember site! LOL Jo

Congress approved the holiday in the United States in 1914. They set the date as the second Sunday in May each year. The idea for a day to honor mother started in Britain and was picked up by Julia Ward Howe in 1870 after the American Civil War, not to honor mothers, but to unite mothers in a protest against war. Her daughter continued calling for the holiday and a Mother's Day was celebrated in West Virginia in 1908. The holiday spread from state to state and after 45 states had approved it, President Woodrow Wilson declared the first national Mother's Day in 1914. It was a day to show a flag in honor of mothers who had lost sons in war, not really the holiday we celebrate today honoring mother for being mother. It is a commercial success today as the busiest day of the year for restaurants, and sets records for florists and long distance calls.
